PERFORMED PROCEDURES
Procedures and services are provided on an outpatient (when appropriate) or on an inpatient basis. Procedures are performed by the attending Physician or by the Pain Fellow and/or Residents under the attending Physicians supervision, with assistance of a Registered Nurse.
MR-VAMC Pain Management
Four month consecutive rotation exposure and/or knowledge of:
- Stellate Ganglion Block/with and without phenol
- Lumbar and Thoracic Sympathetic blocks/RFTC
- Celiac Plexus Block/with phenol/RFTC
- Hypogastric Blocks/with phenol/RFTC
- Occipital Nerve Block/Cryoneurolysis
- Pre-operative Epidural Catheters
- Lidocaine and Phentolamine Challenge Tests
- Facet Injections/RFTC
- Myoneural Injections (local anesthetics, steroids, or Botox)
- Stage II and II of Epidural Decompression Neuroplasty
- Sphenopalatine Ganglion Block
- Morphine Intrathecal Trials
- Cryoneurolysis – inter costal, genitofemoral, ilioinguinal, etc.
- Intercostal Nerve blocks
- Genitofemoral and Ilioinguinal Nerve Blocks
- SI Joint Injections
- Trigeminal Ganglion
- Differential Epidural and Spinal Blocks
- Pleural Catheter Placement
- Splanchnic Plexus Block/RFTC
- Pterygoid Masseter/Temporalis Injections
- Epidural Steroids Injections
- Bier Blocks
Exposure to alternative pain modalities such as acupuncture and massage therapy

Assigned fellow will spend four consecutive months with two faculty members in practice in Pensacola, FL.
