How to get IT support
=====================
As a reminder, please send all requests for support to support@anest.ufl.edu or ListCompSupport(Groupwise) or ANES-CompSupport(Outlook), or call the IT support phone at 494-8203. If you have issues that do not get resolved, call Hans, but that should not be your first call.

Leaving the department?
=======================
If you are leaving, please be advised that HSC security policy does not allow us to autoforward your mail. We can however put a message on your account that responds with your new email address. If you want to set that up, please send an email to Hans with your anesthesia email address and your new address. Please include the date of your last day as well.

Home tip
========
The number of spoofed email messages are at an all-time high. Follow the following rules when responding to email:

= never click on any link in an email
Links in email can be spoofed and cannot be trusted. If the links point to your financial institution, just access their website as you normally do (bookmark, typing the address in the address bar)

= never give out personal information through email There is never ever a need to give your credit card or password through email. Email is insecure and should not be trusted with personal information.

= never reply to fake messages or spam
When you reply to spam, it will put your email address on a list of 'people who read and respond to spam'. That is the coveted group of people that should receive more spam. Deleting spam without reading it, is the best approach.

Email system statistics
=======================
For the week ending June 22, 2008:
Number of messages received: 302,827
Number of viruses blocked: 24
Number of messages marked as spam: 222,677
