PROTECT YOUR ACCOUNT!

You are the person reponsible for your account. This means that you should protect it as best you can. You may think that you have nothing to protect, but what if someone used your account for criminal activity. You are responsible and will be the first person investigated!! To protect your account, do the following:

= always use a strong password
= when you leave your computer, hit CONTROL-ALT-DELETE then ENTER. It locks your computer. If you deal with Patient Health Information, you are REQUIRED (HIPAA) to do this
= LOG OUT when you are done using the computer

NEW BATCH OF WINDOWS UPDATES COMING OUT TODAY

Microsoft has announced that it will release today a batch of 13 new security updates. Please allow them to be installed when your computer prompts you. We will approve the updates after some brief testing, probably tomorrow. Automatic installation will be performed at 3am, so leave your computer on, but LOG OUT (leave it at the login box).
If you want to use these updates at home, turn on automatic updates there, or go to Tools->Windows Updates from Internet Explorer. PLEASE DO NOT do this on departmental computers, we use the automated method.
