Operating Room Attire
Scrub suits are provided in the dressing rooms. Street clothes are not worn within the restricted areas of the surgical suites, with the exception being T-shirts under scrubs. Approved appropriate warm up jackets will be allowed in the OR suite as long as they are laundered when soiled. All head and facial hair, including sideburns shall be covered in restricted areas of surgical suites.
Scrub suits should not be worn outside of the Health Center. Blood stained or otherwise soiled scrub suits shall not be worn outside of the surgical suite and will be changed as soon as possible. Lab coats should be worn over scrub suits when in public places.
All personnel in attendance at the sterile field shall wear shoe covers and protective eye wear. Shoe covers are optional for other team members and visitors. They are to be removed when leaving the restricted areas of the surgical suites.
Masks should be discarded after each case.
Soiled scrub gowns and gloves are to be discarded in the Operating Room before leaving the room. Remove gown first.
