Billing Compliance
It is imperative that each faculty member remain current with regulations related to billing and professional fee reimbursement. The College of Medicine has an office dedicated to the education of physicians in this area and the monitoring of compliance among physicians. Annual training sessions are mandatory. All faculty, housestaff, and billing personnel are provided a detailed compliance document. All must be familiar with all aspects of compliance as denoted on the web site http://www.med.ufl.edu/complian.
All faculty must also have read and be familiar with the department's specific compliance plan which is located at http://www.med.ufl.edu/complian/Plans/Anesth2003.html
Failure to read the compliance plans and attend the mandatory training sessions may subject a faculty member to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Any questions related to compliance may be addressed to Mike Nyland.
