FACET Future

FACET plans to continue development on the current basic teaching aids, training devices and simulators and to design new aids and devices. Also, the simulator needs further development in order to fully satisfy its many users, from medical students to participants in continuing medical education in anesthesia and other clinical specialties.

In the clinical domain, studies in alarm technology, efficiency, and cost containment are underway or in preparation. The flow of information from patient admission of the patient to discharge needs to be integrated with the pre-anesthetic care of the patient. This will require an even greater integration of the anesthesia data management system with information systems located within our own institution and elsewhere.
