Airway Evaluation Tutorial
Welcome
to this interactive website intended to familiarize students with
the airway examination. Upon completion of the lessons at this site,
the student should be able to
- Name all
significant airway-related structures in the pharynx and neck.
- List the
innervation of the pharynx, including the mechanism of the gag
reflex and laryngospasm.
- Perform
a thorough airway examination.
- Identify
and recognize the presence of risk factors for difficult endotracheal
intubation.
Our goal is to teach this in an interactive
way. Blue text indicates the availability of additional information.
Usually a small window appears when the cursor is on the text, but
often more information is available if the word is clicked. After
reading these pop up windows they should be closed, otherwise they
will disappear behind the main page.
